“There is something that is endemic to the Alien franchise. You think about chestbursters and facehuggers and parasites that need human hosts in order to gestate, so there’s that level of expectation. Now if you go and do those exact things, people have seen them now in five or six movies, and video-games, and lots of excellent fan fiction and some not-so-good fan fiction [ahem…AVP].
